Conditions Treated

Congenital Head and Neck Abnormalities

These conditions arise from birth injuries or genetic factors and include torticollis, Treacher Collins syndrome, and congenital masses. Treatment involves monitoring, medication, and surgery. We also offer multidisciplinary approaches for treating tumors in the head and neck of children.

Congenital Cytomegalovirus

CMV, a common infection, can affect newborns and infants, similar to the viruses causing chickenpox and mono. CMV can be congenital (present before birth) or perinatal (acquired during or shortly after birth), with perinatal CMV transmitted via breast milk.

Hearing Loss

Hearing loss in children can stem from issues with any part of the ear and may be conductive, sensorineural, central, or mixed. Causes include CMV infection or genetic factors. Treatments include hearing aids, cochlear implants, and rehabilitation.

Pediatric Vocal and Resonance Disorders

Voice disorders occur when the vocal cords don’t function properly, affecting voice quality, pitch, and loudness. Resonance disorders involve obstructions affecting voice production. Our specialists use advanced equipment to assess and create personalized treatment plans.

Ear Infections (Otitis Media)

Otitis media is a prevalent ear infection in children, caused by viruses or bacteria trapped behind the eardrum. It’s common in children aged 3 months to 3 years. Treatments include medications and ear tubes.

Swallowing Disorders

Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, can affect any phase of swallowing—oral, pharyngeal, or esophageal. It is most common in children aged 1-3 years. Treatment includes medication and behavioral therapies tailored to individual needs.

Airway Problems

Airway disorders can be congenital or develop due to illness or injury, disrupting breathing, swallowing, and sleeping. Conditions include nasal passage obstructions and laryngeal cleft. Our Level III NICU supports effective treatment for these issues.

Tests & Procedures Performed

Pediatric Tracheostomy

This surgical procedure helps children breathe when air cannot flow through the lungs adequately due to congenital disorders, neurological impairments, or airway blockages. A thin tube is inserted into the windpipe to facilitate breathing.

Airway Reconstruction

Also known as laryngotracheal reconstruction, this surgery widens the windpipe to ease breathing. It is used for conditions causing narrowing of the windpipe.

Cochlear Implant

For children with severe hearing loss unresponsive to hearing aids, a cochlear implant is considered. This device bypasses damaged ear parts and directly stimulates the auditory nerves, enabling sound perception.
